The Ohio Grants Alliance, a statewide collaborator and advocate for those seeking federal grants, has facilitated 11 competitive grant opportunities with awards totaling over $4.8 billion since its founding in January 2023.

The $4.8 billion awarded to date ranks Ohio 3rd nationally, accounting for over 11% of the funding within these programs. The $4.8 billion includes only the 11 prioritized programs and not federal funding as a whole.

The Ohio Business Roundtable created the Ohio Grants Alliance in partnership with the regional business associations to leverage funding available through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act, and CHIPS and Science Act. The Ohio Grants Alliance is a part of a team of Ohio organizations, including regional partners, JobsOhio, the DeWine Administration, and the Congressional Delegation.

Beyond the headline numbers, the grant awards have a significant impact within Ohio’s communities.

The OGA Design

The OGA was founded by the Ohio Business Roundtable, Columbus Partnership, Greater  Cleveland Partnership, Dayton Development Coalition, Regional Growth Partnership, Cincinnati  Business Committee, and Appalachian Partnership.

The organization has a two-pronged approach:

1. Research, Identify, and Educate

  • Produce a monthly grant visibility report that includes over 2,500 federal grant  opportunities relevant to the state.

  • Share open opportunities with regional partners using a CRM tracker that is updated daily.

  • Create and distribute fact sheets on relevant opportunities and information about the federal grant application process.

  • Act as subject matter experts on the application process and priority programs in Ohio.

  • Gather up-to-date intelligence on the preferences of federal agencies administering grants.

2. Support Applications for Prioritized Opportunities

  • Provide letters of support and promote Ohio’s applications.

  • Facilitate partnerships.

  • Connect Ohio’s business, educational, and economic development communities.

  • Maintain working relationships with Ohio state agencies and key partners.

  • Advocate for statewide applications to Ohio’s Congressional Delegation.
