Ohio invests $6.5 million in next-generation technology innovation
Ohio continues to cement its position as the Heart of Innovation with a major investment in cutting-edge medical, military, and scientific technologies.
The Ohio Third Frontier Commission has just approved nearly $6.5 million in grants to accelerate groundbreaking technologies across the state. This funding round supports 15 innovative projects through the Technology Validation and Start-up Fund (TVSF), targeting advances in healthcare, artificial intelligence, military applications, and more.

Healthcare Innovation
Astute Signals (Shaker Heights) received $200,000 to develop AI-powered mental health apps for anxiety and depression treatment
University Hospitals Health System (Cleveland) secured $1 million to accelerate their UH Ventures innovation program
Cincinnati Children's Hospital was awarded $250,000 to advance commercially viable medical technologies
AI and Technology Development
BrandRank.ai (Cincinnati) earned $200,000 to create an anti-hallucination filter for AI systems
Ignyte Assurance Platform (Centerville) received $200,000 for AI-enhanced cybersecurity solutions
Dayton Photonics Systems was granted $200,000 for innovative laser communication technology
Military and Defense Applications
Bowerbags LLC (Dayton) secured $200,000 for advanced military equipment load distribution
Galvanix Inc. (Moreland Hills) received $200,000 for critical metals production technology

Case Western Reserve University: $1 million
The Ohio State University: $1 million
University of Cincinnati: $500,000
