About Avani Enterprizes
Avani Enterprizes, LLC. is an Ohio-based small business that is developing sustainable technologies for recycling waste polypropylene into a pure, high-value product.
With a patent-pending technology that dissolves polypropylene but not other types of plastic, Avani hopes to divert millions of tons of polypropylene waste from landfills, setting new standards for resource efficiency and environmental stewardship.
About Tech419
The event, hosted by The University of Toledo Business Incubator, marked the culmination of a 12-week program that honed five tech entrepreneurs’ storytelling skills through intensive deck reviews, feedback sessions, and mock judging panels.
In a final 5-minute pitch showdown, contestants presented to a panel of investors and business leaders, competing for a total of $19,000 in project funding.
The judges included Tom Brady (in the Plastics Hall of Fame) and Todd Hendricks Jr. (a previous winner of the competition).
Formerly known as “Pitch and Pour,” the annual event has been a cornerstone of the tech entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Toledo region since 2013. The most prominent Pitch and Pour winner is Grypshon, which eventually became Grypmat (and a Shark Tank sensation).
