Cincinnati AI startup raises $2.8 million in Drive Capital-led Seed Round

A husband-and-wife team from Cincinnati has raised $2.8 million in a seed round led by Columbus-based Drive Capital to scale its AI-powered scheduling services.

Maddie Bell, co-founder and CEO, along with husband Mike Bell, co-founder and CTO, are building Scheduler AI to help businesses and customers connect.

They say the vision is a fully autonomous AI meeting orchestration platform “capable of instantly connecting the right people at the right time for the right reasons, so that people can focus solely on building strategic, ambitious business relationships.”

The company was founded in March 2021 as Get Together AI to help working parents manage their schedules.

“Our goal is to create the world's first fully autonomous meeting orchestration platform designed to instantly connect the right people at the right time for the right reasons,” Maddie Bell told OhioTechNews.com.

What it Means to Ohio

Ohio is working to stake a claim in the emerging field of artificial intelligence, and AI-powered startups like Scheduler AI could make up the next cohort of unicorns.

From startups to VCs to government, the ecosystem is rapidly forming. For one, Maddie says she and Mike were connected to Drive Capital through another founder. In another example, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted this year introduced an AI toolkit for Ohio’s K-12 school districts.

What They’re Saying

“We'd seen other solutions, and what we found was they didn't actually solve the scheduling tension, they just pushed it onto someone else. So, for example, when someone sends you a calendar link, you get to do the work of scheduling. When you decide to coordinate the meeting and look at everybody's calendars and figure out when someone's free, the burden is still on you. And if you send a poll, then everybody's just sharing it, but nobody's actually eliminating the challenge and making it a mutually good experience.”
