NeuroTherapia, Inc., a clinical-stage company and Cleveland Clinic Innovations portfolio company, has raised $12.3 million in a Series B funding round led by Cleveland Clinic. The company, which focuses on developing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, is using the funding primarily for the continued clinical development of NTRX-07, an orally available cannabinoid receptor agonist, for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD).

The Midwest Pediatric Device Consortium (MPDC) fall grant cycle is now open and includes an initial application due August 31, 2024. In this cycle, applicants can request grants ranging from $10,000 to $250,000. Most awards will be between $10,000 and $50,000.

Maddie Bell, co-founder and CEO, along with husband Mike Bell, co-founder and CTO, are building Scheduler AI to help businesses and customers connect.

Google is investing billions into Ohio, again. In front of a crowd of elected officials, education leaders, and business partners Google announced a $2.3 billion investment in Ohio for 2024. This expansion will further develop the company’s infrastructure and Data Center sites in Columbus, Lancaster, and New Albany. This latest announcement adds $2.3 billion to the over $4.4 billion already invested since 2019 when the first data center in New Albany broke ground.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital generated $48.6 million of income from licensing technology in 2023, up from $29 million a year earlier. Total revenue from royalties, equity stakes, and other payments in licensing deals over the past nine years surpassed $253 million, according to research by Columbus Inno.
